The Importance of Health

If you don't have your health what do you have? Our health is essential to our day-to-day existence. Obesity and weight related illnesses are on the rise in most of the Western world. Don't become a statistic, it isn't too late to get your health on track.
Your overall goal may be to get a bangin' body, and that is okay. But let's also focus on being healthy. By focusing on being healthy you will see many additional benefits in your life, not just how you look in the mirror!
By focusing on your health you will be making an investment in your future and how you will live in your elder years. Would you rather be old and frail, or old and strong?
Being in Good Health will Help You:
• Have increased energy;
• Have an overall better feeling of wellbeing;
• Have better body image;
• Generally have a lower body fat percentage;
• Look more radiant;
• Have a more positive outlook;
• Reduce incidence of illness; and
• Reduce your expenses on medications.
THE FIVE THINGS YOU CAN DO TO GET HEALTHY
1. Avoid overly processed foods, stick to natural produce where possible;
2. Avoid foods that are high in fat, salt and refined sugar;
3. Engage in regular activities or exercise - just get moving;
4. Take small steps, it is better to change one thing each week then to dive in head first, only to revert back to old habits; and
5. Smile and enjoy life!
CASE STUDY
In 2009 the Australian Government undertook a report entitled "A Healthy Future for all Australians" which outlined the critical importance of health and how we only place a value on our health when we lose it.
The report looked not only at the effects on us as individuals, but the challenges the Australian healthcare system will face if we do not prioritise our health.
Your body is a temple...
Your body is a temple, you need to respect it and look after it, it is the only place you have to live.
It takes more than just a good looking body. You've got to have the heart and soul to go with it. - Epictetus
So remember focus on being healthy, not just on being skinny, being thin or being toned and you will have much more success on your weight loss journey. We can't put a price on our health, it is time that you make it a high priority in your life!
